Beautiful Boy

I've just discovered this great little online magazine called THINK CONTRA, a publication devoted to art, fashion, and lifestyle. In their newest issue, model Jason Poisson was photographed by photographer Mckenzie James. The editorial is playful and cute, but Poisson achieves to keep his masculinity without loosing his cuteness.

Giving Up the Gun

As you might know, Vampire Weekend is a favorite of us here at Octopussy Gold. I did a review of their newest album, Contra, and have come back to you with their newest video for the song Giving Up the Gun. The video is star-studded with the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas (I know right!), and Lil Jon. I seriously thought Lil Jon fell off the face of the earth, but I guess he just fell into the arms of Vampire Weekend.

Good Morning!

Hello everyone out there! I just got back from a nice refreshing jog, the sun is shining, and the birds are chirping, and I really couldn't be in a better mood (considering its only 9:30 in the morning). Before going to bed last night I was roaming around vimeo watching a bunch of short films. One in particular caught my eye. It's called Foolishly Seeking True Love written and directed by Jarrett Lee Conway. The film is quite similar to (500) Days of Summer--lonely boy, had his heart broken, meets a girl by chance--but is cute, nonetheless. So here it is, in all of its sappy love story glory.

If Only

I've always been a huge Sondre Lerche fan. Ever since I first heard his duet with Regina Spektor in the song Hell No, I knew he was someone to bookmark in my head. When I found that he had a new video out for his song If Only off his newest album Hearbeat Radio (which I have yet to purchase D:), I was nothing short of ecstatic. The video is extremely cute filled with glitter tears, colander helmets, people dancing in hippie garb, and a very Sufjan Stevens-esque sky scene. The song is quite catchy too, but a little more pop-y than what i like to here from Sondre. I'm not gonna lie when I say I might be in love with him (his wife better be watching her back!)

One in 8 Million

While surfing around the interwebs, I came across an incredible project the New York Times did called One in 8 Million. What they did was put together 54 different people, all of different ages, professions, suffering from different problems, and who have experienced some kind of miracle. Many of the stories were inspiring, many of them funny, and many of them heartwarming. The one that hit me the most was about a woman named Freda Degannes who after discovering she had a rare blood disease had to make a decision to either have a surgery where she only had a 99% chance of living, or going without the surgery where she still only had a 99% chance of living.
